Lady Gaga Responds To Bette Midler's Comments Regarding 'Mermaid Act'

Lady Gaga has gotten some heat recently for her mermaid-in-a-wheelchair performance, an act that Better Midler said she championed over twenty years ago. Of course, Mother Monster dealt with the controversy with poise and gave the usual oh-really-you-did-that-I-love-love-love-you-as-an-artist speech similar to the one she made when everyone was accusing her of ripping off Madonna.

I had no idea that she did that and Im a huge Bette Midler fan.I didnt know that shed done [it], but I do now and I think its great. Obviously I feel connected to women in theater and women from the past. Maybe were just cut from the same cloth . . .I couldnt hop around in that tail so I just stuck myself in awheelchair . . . I admire her and find her to be one of the most brilliant and incredible performers, so thats all Ill say.

Bette just needs to take a seriously large chill pill. You dont own the mermaid, Ms. Midler (its a mythological creature everyone has a right to). What do you all think? Are you Team Gaga or Team Midler?

Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne s son Jack Osbourne , 25, is expecting a baby with his fianc Lisa Stelly . This is the first grandchild for Sharon and the fifth for Ozzy. Ozzy has two children for a previous marriage. Jack announced the news during an interview with Piers Morgan today October 11th, 2011. The announcement comes just two weeks after Jack announced his engagement to Lisa. Lisa tweeted about the engagement: The most amazing man Ive ever met asked me to marry him.and he wasnt joking! Sharon said she was really happy to be a grandmother the first time, while Ozzys said jokingly: it doesnt matter what I think the babys on its way.
