They say the show must go on, but when your singer has voice problems the show gets cancelled.

And Duran Duran have been forced to postpone their European tour because Simon Le Bon is suffering from on-going voice trouble.

This is the second time the band have postponed UK tour dates and in May the band announced they wouldnt be able to play scheduled dates after doctors ordered the Le Bon to rest.

The 52-year-old, who has been told to undergo physiotherapy treatment, said it had been an extremely difficult decision to make to postpone the dates which included three UK appearances at festivals, the BBC has reported.

The band, which includes Nick Rhodes and John and Roger Taylor as well as Simon have said they hope to reschedule the dates.

According to a statement on the bands website: Doctors believe that Le Bon damaged the muscles controlling his vocal chords during a show in Cannes in early May of this year, causing him to temporarily lose the top part of his range.

Le Bon said his injury was an internal one and so no one can tell me exactly how long it's going to take to mend completely.

He added: I need to take some more time away from shows to get back to full strength.

If we knew exactly when that might be, we wouldn't have to let this entire run of dates go, but what we feel we can't keep doing is moving shows piecemeal as it's just not fair on the fans.

He said also said that his voice problems couldn't have come at a worse time.

I am doing everything I can to work through this and get back on track as soon as possible.

A message was posted to the bands website which stated that the band was being forced to cancel their upcoming European summer tour, that was due to start on Thursday 14 July in Dublin, Ireland and run through mid September, due to lead singer Simon Le Bons ongoing vocal problems.

The other band members were said to be devastated at the news that the shows will not go ahead

The statement added: While they wait for Simons full recovery, they are working together in the studio, rehearsing, to assist with the rehabilitation process.

Fans are being being advised to hold onto their tickets that will be valid for any new dates scheduled.
