Gaba, who's made numerous television appearances over the past few years on shows like Celebrity Rehab and Sober House, is a California-based psychotherapist.
She said her latest work, like many self-help addiction books, offers a step-by-step guide to attaining sobriety.
The Law of Sobriety' shows you how to combine the power of positive thinking with definite action steps to create and maintain a better life than you ever thought possible, Gaba said. Gaba said she'll also talk about her experiences on television through the years and tell attendees what led her to write The Law of Sobriety. She said she expects to connect with the audience because the issues of substance abuse, addiction, depression, single parenting and divorce are universal.
Addiction, hidden habits and belief systems are across-the-board, no matter where I speak, Gaba said. I speak all over the country ... on the subject of removing negative belief systems and addictions so that people can live more fulfilling lives.
Gaba said she often participates in teleseminars and does a lot of her life-coaching by phone. And as for working with celebrities, they're not too different from the average American who struggles with addiction or other mental illnesses.
But there are some differences.
Addictions are across-the-board, whether you are a celebrity or not, Gaba said. Celebrities have more yes' people and enablers that sometimes keep them from receiving the help they need.
They also don't reach the financial bottoms that non-celebrities reach, however, the destruction is all the same when it comes to addictions.
The seminar costs $10. Reservations can be made by emailing linda.morgan3@cox.net or calling 848-9393, ext. 307.
