When Cheryl Cole needed the support of her band-mates she got it.. now it's Sarah Harding's turn - Daily Mirror

The sad announcement about Sarah Harding entering rehab for alcohol problems is the conclusion to a turbulent few months for the self-styled most rock n roll member of Girls Aloud - and now, with herpersonal life in tatters and her health in the spotlight,she reallyneeds her bandmates to help her through her darkest hour.

Sarahs always been the bands resident party girl but, until now, wed thought and hoped shed stayed on just the right side of proper hot mess territory. Yes, she always seemed like she was taking advantage of the endless free booze opportunities that being pretty famous (and pretty pretty) brings, but wouldnt you, too?

In fact, Sarahs always insisted that shes much more of a homebody than the image thats been portrayed, often talking about her love of cosy nights in with her DJ fianc Tom Crane.

But somethings changed in the last six months first, there was her face. Despite being naturally gorgeous, at times Sarahs appeared to be morphing into a surgery-addled monster. Even she admitted shed gone too far, and blamed it on going through a turning 30 freak-out.

Then, in August, Sarah reportedly had a meltdown backstage at a TV show. It sounded like overblown nonsense at the time but a couple of weeks later it was confirmed that shed split up with Tom and many people gossiped that her party lifestyle and dramatic episodes were part of the problem. Tom played the split down, implying that they were merely on a break, but they havent been seen together since they went to Ibiza together in July, apparently to try and work things out.

Since then, Sarahs gone through a few classic break-up episodes shes dyed her hair red, appeared on the catwalk at London Fashion Week looking amazing (thats the celebrity equivalent of turning up at your exs local wearing your highest heels and your entire make-up drawer), enjoyed a girly night in with her bandmates (except Nadine, obviously, whos still pretty much AWOL in LA) and been spotted flirting with Danny Dyer, who would be the ultimate rebound fling option if it werent for the fact that hes got a long term, long suffering girlfriend.

All of which sounds like good, clean(ish) fun, but evidently isnt, with Sarahs spokesman today confirming that shes spending time in an unnamed treatment centre for depression and alcohol addiction.

With a Girls Aloud reunion pencilled in for next year but many people cynically speculating that it will never happen, its important that Sarah sorts things out fast.

Hopefully her girly gaggle of bandmates (once again: except Nadine, obviously) will rally round her just as much as they did for Cheryl when Ashley turned out to be the rotter wed always suspected he was.
